Gabriel Brogan

Gabriel has facilitated parent and family events, initiated transition projects with his neighboring Secondary School’s math department and engaged his entire school with Izak9 in very innovative fashion – his own class of children made a video to engage the rest of the staff in the school with izak9’s use. This has worked supremely well to the point where Gabriel’s initiatives were shared as examples of leading practice at presentations organized by the Northern Ireland Inspectorate.

Clare Enright

Clare and Frances are superb math teachers and Apple certified trainers. Their advanced knowledge of how to effectively use Technology has added a completely new dimension to the use of Izak9 in their School. Children regularly use a variety of tablet applications in tandem with Izak9 as a mechanism by which they can: record and display evidence of teaching and learning; present their findings and results to teachers, peers and parents in contemporary, relevant and innovative fashion. You can view their blog here. The ladies have also used a KTP approach to ensure that leading practice is disseminated throughout their school and they regularly host visiting schools to share with them also.

Ross participated in our first to Education Authority sponsored Izak9 training events in Northern Ireland and has since become the foremost Izak9 user in Scotland. Ross has undertaken his own research project with a new cohort of S1 pupils to test the efficacy of Izak9’s use in his school (see PDF). He also visits local Primary Schools in Edinburgh to showcase the effectiveness of Izak9’s use, the impact it can have on pupil transition and the raising of standards in the teaching and learning of math.

Katie Zwinkels

Katie, on the recommendation of her Head teacher, took a close look at Izak9 with a view to adopting it’s use in her 'Internationally British’ school in The Hague. She very quickly embraced what Izak9 had to offer both pupils and staff to the extent whereby the device’s use is now embedded in her school’s planning across all year groups. Katie has facilitated whole school staff training with Qubizm staff in her school.  She has also run workshops for parents and families, using Izak9 to help demonstrate the importance of being able to explain your reasoning and how approaching mathematics from an interactive angle can help engage all pupils.  This inclusive method of teaching and learning can help to raise confidence in engaging with the subject of mathematics for parents, staff and pupils.
